Tampa attorney Hala A. Sandridge will take office July 1st as the first vice president of The Florida Bar Foundation, a statewide charitable organization whose mission is to provide greater access to justice.
Ms. Sandridge, co-managing shareholder of the Tampa office of Buchanan Ingersoll & Rooney, practices in the area of appellate law. She earned her bachelor’s degree from the University of Florida and her law degree from the Florida State University College of Law.
Ms. Sandridge has received numerous pro bono awards including the Hillsborough County Bar Association’s Jimmy Kynes Pro Bono Award in 2000; The Florida Bar President’s Pro Bono Service Award in 2002; the Distinguished Pro Bono Award from Bay Area Legal Services in 2007 and the Have a Heart Pro Bono Service Award in 2009.
She has been a member of the Litigation Section, Young Lawyers Division, and Appellate Committee of the American Bar Association. Ms. Sandridge also has chaired the appellate practice sections of the Hillsborough County Bar Association and The Florida Bar. She is a Florida Bar Foundation Fellow. She is a Fellow of the Litigation Counsel of America and a recipient of the LCA's Peter Perlman Service Award for outstanding commitment to her community.
The Florida Bar Foundation accomplishes its mission by funding programs that expand and improve representation and advocacy on behalf of low-income persons in civil legal matters, improve the fair and effective administration of justice, and promote public service among lawyers.
